Rutland Pet Photography Christmas gift guide
Christmas is without a doubt one of my favourite times of the year. I have such happy childhood memories, from heading out Christmas eve to look at all of the Christmas lights to getting up at 5am to go with Dad to collect the Christmas turkey.
I also love hunting for Christmas presents for loved ones which leads me to this very blog post. I have looked high and low for some of the best Christmas gifts for pet lovers. Covering all budgets there is something for everyone.
I have done my best to keep this local so we can all support local business this Christmas, and of course there are a few things from me in there too.
One of my very own additions my personalised photo cushions make an ideal gift. Created with your favourite image from your session my luxury cushions are completed with a cushion pad and concealed zip.
These stunning cushions are 45 x 45 cm, fibre filled and are made with faux suede.
Printed to the edge they are colourfast, wear resistant and washable.
Anna from Anya’s Studio immortalises your pet in beautiful watercolours. She is taking orders for Christmas but if you want yours you will need to get in quickly as she is booking fast.
The painting is on high quality 300gsm acid-free watercolour paper and they are sealed with UV protective varnish to keep the colours vibrant.
Paintings start at £150 and are truly beautiful.
Tasty treat boxes
Treat your dog or your friend or family members dog to a tasty treat selection box this year from Paws Doggy Bags. These boxes come in various options including meaty, fish and grain free so there is something for everyone.
The selection boxes are beautifully presented and easy to wrap so just pop a bow on them and off you go.
Even better these treats are all handmade locally in Rutland.
The gift of training
Why not give the gift of training this Christmas.
I have personally used and can highly recommend Jo from Prog Dog training. Another local lady she offers ethical rewards based training on a one to one level.
We had been to group classes at our local vets when we got our two puppies but having this one to one training the boys have learnt and retained so much more and so have we.
Jo offers various packages to suit different levels of training. So go on, help a friend out and give them the gift of a beautifully trained dog this Christmas.
A Ceramic sculpture
Looking for something a little different for your loved one, or as a cheeky Christmas gift for yourself? Why not check out this incredible lady.
Olivia Brown creates these gorgeous sculptures of dogs and you can even commission her to make one that looks like your very own dog.
Prices start at £60 and they truly are works of art!
Animalia portrait from Healey Rose
Healey Rose is a Rutland based artist with incredible talent.
Whilst her commission books are closed for Christmas 2019 that won’t stop you purchasing one of her limited edition prints. How incredible is this one aptly named ‘The king’.
You could also gift your loved on a gift voucher to allow them to have their own pet portrait commissioned after Christmas. Even better they then get to choose the images they send in to her to be captured.
Limited Edition prints start at £35.
Ruff and tumble dog drying coat
practical and yet super stylish this Rutland based company makes the best dog drying coats around. We have one for each of our dogs and don’t know what we did before we had them.
You can also purchase dog drying mitts for cleaning your dogs paws when they come in from a walk, what a fantastic idea!
They even have a Christmas edition coat!
Do it old school
Prefer to do your shopping old school and in person. Then why not head over to Tails n Whiskers on the High Street in Oakham.
Paul and his team are so helpful and they have a huge range of gifts suitable for all budgets.
A pet photography experience
Of course I couldn’t finish the list without mentioning my very own gift vouchers. You can opt to purchase someone a full session with a print included or you can buy gift vouchers for different amounts to put towards a session or prints.
Gift vouchers can also be used for the cushions and towards mini sessions.
Luxury collars and leads
For something extra special how about one of these luxury leads or collars from local company Turner and Bell.
They come in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colours and are so beautiful your dog (or your friends) will be the best looking dog around and the envy of their friends.
